The much-anticipated NTR–Neel project, which officially went on floors on February 20, 2025, is now raising concerns within industry circles. Despite being in production for over a year, the film is yet to unveil a first look, leaving fans increasingly restless. The lack of fresh promotional material, coupled with prolonged silence from the makers, has begun to impact the film’s initial hype. What once started as a high-expectation pan-India venture is now facing questions about its progress and planning.
Production Challenges and Casting Changes
Adding to the uncertainty, actor Tovino Thomas, who reportedly completed a 35-day schedule at RFC, is now out of the NTRNeel project. Reports suggest that Shahid Kapoor is being considered as a replacement, indicating a possible shift in the film’s casting strategy. At the same time, rumours of extensive reshoots have surfaced, with speculation pointing towards a financial setback of nearly ₹25 crore. While such developments are not uncommon in big-budget films, they do hint at ongoing creative or executional challenges behind the NTR and Prashanth Neel collaboration.
Marketing Concerns and Diminishing Momentum
Another major concern is the NTRNeel film’s diminishing buzz, especially among fans who were expecting regular updates. The makers have repeatedly shared the same gym-look visuals of NTR, which has not helped sustain excitement. In today’s fast-moving digital space, consistent engagement is key, and the absence of impactful content has led to waning interest. Unless the team delivers a strong update soon, the project risks losing its early momentum despite its massive potential.
